he said his car got stolen 2 weeks ago and he lost his $600 dollar headphones that were in the car

He was more mad about the $600 dollar headphones getting stolen than his car getting stolen

Probably had insurance on his car and not his headphones, most ppl like you and him not smart enough to insure their belongings

Very possible I think theft insurance doesn't cover items in the car
