What would stop someone from "converting for personal use" then just selling on the other core like they planned?

Exactly, this is an area that needs to be blocked. Since you brought this up again, I just had a thought.

The Seller has a 24 hour block on his/her username account, just like when you sell something on the MP and you can not remove it within 24 hours, you have to buy it back, however, with "Conversion" on the other core, the same username account can NOT buy it within that 24 hour period.

So. You can NOT purchase your item within 24 hours on the other core using the "Conversion" method I mentioned on the previous page:

Ahh, I wonder if this would be better.

Marketplace has a "Conversion" Option
You select the item at the price displayed and press "Conversion" (2 things will happen)
#1: A fee box will appear, Fee is .20 per 1 fg paid by the buyer.
#2: A list of your characters from the core you are converting the item to will appear, you will have to select the character to send it to.

Example: SC item on MP @ 1000 forum gold and buyer converts this and the 1000 fg goes to seller and 200 fg fee is paid by the buyer

This seems to be a quicker solution, however it doesn't stop PM Trades where they manipulate paying the Fee by lowering the price and buyer sending the rest over to seller. This may also increase sniping.

However, this method can still be abused.

The most obvious is that they get a Guild member to go in cahoots and buy that item using the "MP Conversion" method, use Guild Transfer days to send it to the Seller for them to sell it off on that core... however this would be too obvious, so maybe the guild member puts the item up for Trade for his guild mate... again too obvious because the ID# of the item will appear in the Gold logs which can be tracked.

Thus an alternative to a Converted item could be another identifier on top of the ID#

Just a thought while responding to your post. Still trying to find ways to make it viable.

This maybe true.

As it is now, SC Marketplace has a ton of items that HC members may want and are willing to pay the fee & use the Conversion method to buy them off from SC without using the Trade section. The seller still gets the asking price and the HC buyer pays the fee on top.

What is the difference? Now the only issue is using the Trading Section and it can be abused right, BUT that is only if the seller and other bidders knows that it is going to be converted to HC.

Putting it in simple terms, I go to the SC Trade Section, Bin an item at @ 5k fg, the seller puts that item up on MP @ 5k fg (they pay their fee), I buy that item using the Conversion method and pay extra for the Conversion Fee... boom, no one knows the difference.

EDIT: this goes both ways... HC convert to SC.

Locking this topic would be a good start though.

I was going to report this as spam since your post is not related to the topic, just your idea to lock the topic.

Stay on topic thank you, and no I didn't report it.

I have less concern of HC selling to SC (although it will just be less stuff available for HC) but it is kind of defeating the purpose of HC to move stuff from SC. The whole point is for the game mode to be more difficult, i.e. rare stuff is harder to obtain/maintain.

Hey I get it, I pretty much agree.

Player choice to use that option if it was added, by the sounds of it you wouldn't. I would. SC sells off a ton of useful items cheap, my win, it is just the same as me going to the HC trade section and buying the same items there. Off of the Marketplace.

Maybe those ISO threads that have been going on for over a year by the same people can find buy what they are after from SC FINALLY. However, their choice, they don't have to.

EDIT: Just a thought, how about that a Converted item can not be converted back to the original core? A way to do this is when converting the item from a core, that item ID# gets an Asterisk added at the front or back of the number. Thus when placed on the MP and a person uses the conversion method again, a popup or msg would say "This item can not be converted." or similar.
