How will these trades even work moving forward, surely mediators wont be holding funds for 7 days and keeping track of it all, seems like a lot of work.

Good question, depends on how valve will handle this method i guess if its permanent which is likely to be the case.

Mediators here will not hold the trades as middle mans atleast not if the trade cant be done instantly. So they will and may not hold the item for 7 days to then xfer to receipient. Unless its an instant trade supervised from what i know.

So might be that trading cs2 items on jsp will be not allowed to avoid chargeback issues with the new 7day reverse trade system.

This new update is to discourage 3rd parties websites so all sales and purchases revert back to the steam market so they can maximize profit on trade fees.

Now all fg vs skin trades will 100% need a mediator and I suggest the mediator hold the fg for 7 days until the revert period is over. So seller of cs items will need to send up front to the buyer and wait 7 days to collect fg from mediator.

Mediator on jsp has effectively been made irrelevant on jsp since jsp mediators have A policy that anyone can cancel a deal at any time, so basically for jsp at least, its gonna be A complete trust thing now .. where one party has to trust the other party with their fg/skin, so trading on jsp now will be very difficult.. but they are certainly not doing this for the reason you stated, they are doing it to protect users from scams, the problem for us users is that they dont support third party trading, so there will be an abundance of scams now outside of steam market and thats the big issue i can see with this

one can assume that dota/tf2 will most likely be next on that list since alot of gambling sites and sites period moved over to those games since no trade hold.

The only change is that now, to confirm a trade, you have to wait 7 days since the seller could back out.

I really hope this doesn't stick and they reverse it. Now it's going to be a lot more complicated when trading 2k$+ items that can't be sold on steam efficiently

This would sort of make it easier to do a mass exit scam as well. Depending on how easy it is to cancel a trade

Nothing really changes for buyers, just now sellers have to wait 7 days to get payed. Or is it a 14 day total wait time now, to trade the item again

In this case, you must go through a mediator each time.

mediators on jsp wont be part of trades of this nature.
So for JSP sake, mediators no longer an option for cs trades.
