That’s a lame excuse that ignores the real monsters. Assad butchered his own people long before anyone got involved. And ISIS wasn’t ‘put on a throne’ by the West, it rose from the chaos Assad helped create, and Iran and Hezbollah took full advantage of it.

Blaming Israel or the US is just a convenient way to avoid holding Arab regimes accountable for their own crimes. If this happened in Israel, you’d be screaming genocide but when it’s Arabs killing Arabs, suddenly it’s someone else’s fault.

The IDF claims that 251 hostages were taken. I use the word claim, noting (from sources online) originally they stated 228, then later increased it to 233 and then later landed on this figure of 251. This figure of 251 was confirmed by Hamas, and while Israel discounts everything Hamas says, I find it reasonable to accept the figure of 251.

He's not fully wrong on Al-Sharaa, but what makes him believe that someone better would take Al-Sharaa's place, instead of someone even worse? When the shitty, murderous leaders of Iran, Iraq, Egypt, Yemen and Libya were forcibly removed through the interference of outside forces, it inevitably made things even worse.
