There sure is. In just about every metric, good quality tools are better than cheap counterparts. The only justification I could see is weekend warriors who only use it to cut 2 pieces of timber and put up a picture on the wall.

The tools are an investment and will be worth every penny in the long run. Especially if you are thinking of building or renovating your house.

I can't just look at the brands and tell which is "high end" and which isn't. What would you consider the best? Also the worst.

Out of all the options listed in the poll Einhell is the only one I've never seen before. The rest I feel like are basically on the same level.

there is a youtube channel thats puts them all to the test side by side. i worked for years in a machine shop where we use them daily and beat the hell out of them we would try every brand ive never noticed the difference tbh. anything with as chuck key is also better then a spin lock when it comes to drills

Yeah, I've seen at least 1 video of 4 drills side by side screwing screws into a chunk of wood, and there was a clear difference there, but other than drills idk how much better some can be than others.

My favorite is a Milwaukee sub-compact hex impact driver. Prob not great for large projects but it's perfect for apartment maintenance. Not super heavy but has good power.

S tier
1. Milwaukee
2. Makita

A tier
3. Everything else Bosch, Dewalt, Hitachi, etc

Charsi tier
4. Ryobi, craftsman, most amazon home depo cheap brands
5.Temu

When you do a job for a day you will notice a difference. I value time and precision. I've spent many days cursing building shit with crappy tools. It's like anything else you get what you pay for. All these filthy casuals telling you there is no difference are the same ones which end up spending more in the long run.

i dont think my job has ever bought any of the s tier ones so you may be on to something. i would personally request corded drills cuz id rather walk around with a plug then have a pile of battery packs that dont charge and cant drill through steel. ive broken many drill bits and even more taps.

Well it depends on the type of work you need done. Battery tools are a game changer.
But if you are standing there all day cutting or drilling things then it makes more sense to get a corded tool.

For battery tools you normaly get a charging station 5 and 6ah batteries last a decent amount just change them every 2/3hrs. When you are building and need to get to places corded tools are a huge pain in the ass.

I didn't really leave my area in the shop so for me corded made more sense. I have a time limit on each job so a dead battery could set me back. They would mostly buy craftsman and they were total shit out the box. When you break a drill bit in a cnc it heats up the metal and the coolant hardens it. Taps are even worse one broken tool could set you back hours.

Oh you have multiple batteries lol. You have one on charge while working with another. When it runs out of juice swap for a fresh one.

yeah i had 3 chargers and 4 batteries but these shit brands dont last very long and i cant even drill one hole in 1/2 thick steel before the packs are dead. all the metal dust in the air from grinders also shorts them out. i got tired of it and went corded

Cheap brands will do that. But you also need a to use a good quality drill bit along with some drill liquid applying slow technique.

Sometimes it could also be a user error. You would be surprised what I have seen people do over the years. Your job might require a drill press and you are using battery drills with wood drill bits. In that case the best drill in the world won't work.
