You wrote earlier that the IDF differentiates civilians from enemy combatants. So how many civilians does IDF say it has killed in total since oct 8th?

I meant that Israel’s health organization will publish the number of combatant and civilian deaths meaning Israeli fatalities.

Unlike Hamas, which reports every death as that of a civilian, regardless of whether the person was a combatant or not.

As for official numbers regarding gaza:

IDF (official) as of end of 2024
Total deaths ~41,000
Civilian casualties ~24,000

If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, its a duck.

Ultimately: in word and deed, Israel is colonizing the West Bank while at the same time it has plans for Rafa and Gaza. all of these things point to one single intent, which is the big fat G word.

This is an old argument. the G word as I understand it, is reserved in Israeli culture for what happened in WW2, and therefore they will never use this word for what they are doing. its a cultural wall which they cant face.

There’s no genocide in Gaza. There’s no intent to eliminate an ethnic group the objective is to dismantle Hamas, a terror organization that started this war. The number of casualties, while deeply tragic, doesn’t come close to something like the Holocaust in either scale or purpose.

And if this were truly about ethnic or racial cleansing, ask yourself this: why wouldn’t Israel start with the over 2 million Arab citizens inside Israel? They live, vote, work, and serve in parliament. The genocide claim just doesn’t stand up to logic or facts.

We always knew the Palestinians excel at PR and that this war would be tough. They expected us to fold within two months but they were wrong. We will finish Hamas, whether the world likes it or not.

We don’t target them but being a child, a journalist, or a civilian doesn’t grant immunity to terrorists hiding among them.

You will face this BS soon enough I am not worried

look, no one cares about Hamas. If Israel completely settles the West Bank that IS genocide. If Israel permanently claims land in Gaza and corrals the Palestinians in and around Rafa, that is also genocide. if you dont agree, then we can have a proper debate as to what constitutes genocide.

Genocide:

Genocide is defined in international law as acts committed with the intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial, or religious group, as such. This definition is established by the United Nations Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (1948), often referred to as the Genocide Convention.

According to Article II of the Genocide Convention, genocide includes any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy such a group:

Killing members of the group;

Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group;

Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part;

Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group;

Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group.

Key aspects:

Intent (dolus specialis) is central—without the specific intent to destroy the group, the acts, even if severe, may not qualify legally as genocide.

Genocide can target a part of a group, not necessarily the entire population.

It does not require mass killing; other methods like preventing births or transferring children also qualify.

Are you doing anything physically to prevent this terrible genocide or are you arguing semantics with someone from a country who experienced something worse then 9/11.

America went in to Iraq/Afghanistan/Syria/Libya/Sudan amongst other nations all on the "Weapons of Mass Destruction" and "Terrorist" gambit and we all know now it was a sham to put trillions of dollars in US military assets and create bases throughout the Middle East and create 10 new terrorist for every 1 we bombed. Us leaving Afghanistan in such a power vacuum equipment and all was just a deeper ploy to sow chaos in the Middle East permanently. Now we can use Israel(our proxy) to get at Iran.

10/7 was as much a stand down debacle as 9/11. Hamas was ruthlessly murdering concert goers for hours when they could've scrambled fighter jets to that location in 5 minutes and probably personnel in less then an hour. The difference between the 10/7 attack and 9/11 is scale. Israel is a relatively small nation and still thousands died. America is a large nation and thousands died. The United States is said to have killed millions in the Middle East(Think Madeline Albright 500,000 dead Iraqi men woman and children was worth it) and it was all really a geopolitical ploy to secure oil routes, opium production, and secure large military bases in the "heart of the Middle East".

Israel is not even close to comiting a genocide when you look at what we did in the Middle East. More then half the reason Hamas exists is because WE America allowed it to proliferate and now Israel will meticulously eradicate those people and their shit can ideology. Will every woman, child, and elderly person killed in the middle of it be used by Hamas like mentioned? Yes.

Israel has shown nothing but restraint they didn't pull a "bombs over Baghdad" move.

Most the civilian deaths are from KILLBOTS that are given the command to take out a terrorist at a particular location. This process no longer needs humans and it's the one thing I've argued with about because the US/Israel have the most advanced weapons systems and the US in particular was BANNED from using them(Predator drones ring a bell?) without a "human" giving the "kill shot". I would say the Israeli military should be held accountable for violations in that department because it violates International law. If you can't get them on genocide at least investigate them on "autonomous drone killings". Then again let's be real if your Israel and you have total spectrum dominance over Gaza they most definiteloy do have the capacity to commit genocide and I know people use the term "slow genocide" but that doesn't change the causal reality of what happened. Thousands of innocent Israeli concert goers were killed and now the IDF is hunting down every member of Hamas on Earth and they are willing to bomb a terror cell beneath a hospital because they are using advanced statistics to calculate, "Hey if we let these 10 terrorist live (x) new terrorist will be created and (x) of our troops will be threatened".

I don't see the genocide I just see the retaliation from 10/7 maybe thats harsh but my fellow Americans were harsher.

My good friend served two tours in Iraq/Afghanistan and was in an IED blast and has PTSD for life his comrad was lost in the blast. He lost others too and he's no longer the same person but he was willing to go into the desert looking for these scumbags only to now have people he knows tell him, "He was conned into serving the military industrial complex". He simply doesn't give a shit because he knows the price of freedom and he knows most people are ignorant.

Never hear about IDF troop losses just the poor Gazan refugees. Funny how there's two sides to the story but modern social media(a usefool tool of the elites). Funnier then all that is probably the number of people in this thread who aren't from Israel or Gaza(myself included) who should have no opinion on an issue that doesn't directly affect their way of life. People in my home city of Chicago blocking highways for "Palestine". Not a good look.

Don't support either and I'm also not naïve enough to believe Israel can be reprimanded when DADDY(USA) can fist fuck anyone who has something to say about it into literal nuclear oblivion. That's what raw power does. Total control.

Of course social justice warriors will cry about it but that won't do anything. Unironically their freedom to criticize our occupation of the Middle East won't leaven our presence there and if anything just exacerbates an issue that you yourself said, "No one cares about Hamas".

See how quickly people are desensitized when everyday kids are getting killed in Gaza. Everyone's talking about Epstein now it's like the world forgot about Gaza.

Just like Ukraine. No one actually gives a shit they just say they do to make themselves feel better.

I don't pretend to give a shit. I don't give a shit.

You’re quoting the definition of genocide but completely misapplying it. Settlements in the West Bank or military control in Gaza are political and territorial issues, not acts aimed at destroying a people. Genocide is about intent to wipe out a group, not about occupation or displacement. If Israel wanted to commit genocide, it would not have over two million Arab citizens living, voting, and working inside its borders. Throwing around the term “genocide” every time you disagree with Israeli policy does not make your argument stronger, it just shows a lack of understanding of what the word actually means.

Israel doesn’t use autonomous killer drones. There’s no such thing as a drone that kills without human involvement every drone strike requires oversight, and nothing is targeted without a human giving the final green light.

none of the above answers the question. What would genocide on the part of Israel, look like, in your opinion. And then, marry that up with the various definitions of the word.
