Just because you don't like discussing the latest news, it doesn't mean us adults can't. Now go sit at the kids table, since this conversation makes you so uncomfortable.

You aren't discussing news, you are trying to place a blame on somebody for a natural disaster.

I'll continue to stay until this one gets closed too.

Again, as you were told about 50 times, they have an automated flood warning system for the Guadalupe River. The NWS first forecast the flood warnings the day before based on projections from radar, then the imminent danger that night again from radar, and them as the flood started it was measured on gauges throughout the river and the NWS sent out multiple warnings of catastrophic flooding underway telling people to get to high ground.

I meant an automated system with sirens, not just relying on NWS messages. Sorry I wasn't more clear. See post #26. Thx

I question the decision makers who have not yet installed a flood warning system with sirens, which they have discussed for the past decade installing.

Again, see post #26.

Topic is about Maryland and post #26 is trying to bring up your previously closed topic involving Texas.

I already reported that post for being off topic.

Your Texas post was closed for a reason. Either stay on topic with your Maryland nonsense or just get off the subject. You were incorrect before and you are still incorrect now.

Yup. It is a warranted subject. I'm not blaming anyone or any political party. Like I originally said department of homeland security helped fund the auto flood system in maryland. Should it be a federal funded program or should states be responsible?

Oh, so we're just gonna pretend you didn't blame the Republican political party for the flood and called them murderers.

Got it.

All cuts to these programs were genuine waste and they can run efficiently in their current state.

Tom Moser, who served as Kerr County commissioner from 2012 to 2021, told Morning Edition he advocated for a flood warning system with sirens in 2016 after a deadly flood in nearby Wimberley. That system was never built because commissioners were denied funding from state grants and there was public pushback.

This deserves to be addressed. A discussion is warranted.

The problem with what you are saying and the part of my response with which you totally disregarded shows how dumb what you are saying really is.

A WEEK before any rain/storm/etc. starts to roll in it becomes well known especially through technology and still through word of a mouth and they knew they were going to get a "lot of rain in a short time frame" a week or two in advance with the current technology they possess.

What they didn't account for was multiple(4) damns failing. Do you know how many feet of water got released with each subsequent damn breach. Clearly not because you are blaming the weather man and Trump cutting NOAA funding for damns breaking that were probably built 50 years ago.

So I'd like to ask where you are going with this topic? I already said after a tragedy this bad this place will get a mult-million dollar new "system" and then nothing will happen here for decades and then the same thing will happen a few counties over next year. Same thing right? Trumps fault 45ft of water became a giant death spiral and killed/drowned 250 people(still to be found).

Pray for the people not a new government response system. Ask yourself how would that system help the people of that community directly affected. New system because "blame Trump" or new houses/roads/buildings/bridges/damns/etc. because that little town has nothing left.

Really out of touch with the core reality of what's going on there right now. People digging through mud for dead kids. Think of only that for a while big guy

I like to explain things out to him because I know all he does is MSM parroting so this may be the actual only real "authentic human text" he ever reads. The rest is ChatGpt and CNN so naturally he sounds lost and misled/misinformed. That's ok we all live and learn.

Yes, Texas floods are a top story in the news right now. Thought how different states deal with these natural disasters was worth a thread.
