Difference is, they accepted that and left it in. So it leveled the playing field across everyone. Them taking this out, especially if they were going to treat the leaderboards with any type of respect, removes that level playing field for others that are wanting to compete. You're definitely going to argue against it because you were able to use the exploit in a manner that helped you. Others didn't, either didn't know about it or just didn't use it.
The correct answer with this, given their past as per your example would have been to leave it in the game or poll the public like they did with spiritborn.
It is posted online lol. Anyone could search for the video within 2 seconds. Same story with the s6 sb. It was posted online and exploiting spreads like disease. There is no leaderboard or whatsoever in this game for this reason, leaderboard means everything is transparent, bugs/exploits have to be addressed and dealt with in short period of time, not to mention an award kind of system for the leaderboard. Given the capacity of 4 people working on d4 dev team, that would be too much for them guys. So i couldn’t care less if there are a few guys that finish pit 150 abusing enlightment bug, this literally took the whole fun out of game for me.
Priority-wise, they need to address on the mass duping rather than anything else in the game right now rather than spending resource looking into who exploits the pit and get their glyphs maxed out. I need them to go all in to deal with the dupe, even if that means s10 has 0 new contents, i’ll still be happy.
Edit: btw, the reaction from players in s6 about keeping the bug was pretty pathetic. So you probably got the idea of d4 player base
