To give some obvious examples, OpenAI and Anthropic are based in CA. Nvidia is CA. Literally the entire AI industry is eating America and it's almost all in CA

Companies are leaving because the business environment is punitive and you can attract the same talent to Austin, TX (not that far away) in a far better regulatory climate. For the North-East that's North Carolina, it's not that far away, and the talent comes because their homes are dirt cheap. The point is to show that just 1 California company by itself is worth more than the entire economy of Texas right now. Nvidia might be overvalued (same for Tesla) but there are many companies in California of similar size
