Take a step back and realize this was a natural disaster flash flood.

What folly to think humans are going to be masters of all weather events. It's up there with the socialists continuously predicting there will be no more poverty once they get into power. Blaming one political side of this does what exactly here? Or is the purpose to string enough of these that Paris Climate accord and other nonsense gets hundreds of billions in pledges?

Natural disasters happen and people will die. How often and how many people will die is something we can influence, this is exactly why we have agencies measuring things and issueing warnings.

Don't let your politians off the hook that easily, making sure they do everything they reasonably can to protect their constituents (aka you) is one of their main jobs.

I have an ebike that I use most of the time instead of a second car with my girlfriend. I also vote against my own financial interests for political parties that will not lower my taxes and instead invest in social security for everybody and investments in measures against climate change.

I do have a phone and we plan on having at least one child, so you win some and you lose some I guess.

What's that an electric bike? Do you realize you just prove my point that people aren't prepared to give up the things I mentioned and in fact people are only burning up more electricity by putting electric motors in everything including bicycles (!) which would otherwise be great for getting around an getting some exercise at the same time.

Not even talking about your car, mobile and all the other shit, it's completely clear you'd never be prepared to give it up and you're just here to talk smack in this topic while people in Texas are grieving their drowned kids.

OP is undoubtedly one of the lowest IQ posters on these forums. Many of these kids bodies haven't even been buried yet and he pounces to make it political. True piece of shit.

I do not have a car, I have an electric bike which I use for >100kms each week, mostly but not exclusively for the >10km drive to my sports club 4 times a week. A bike without a motor would be even better for the environment, but I would also not be able to get home in reasonable time after sport due to fatigue.

To the people more interested in floods than my personal vehicles, we had a very deadly flood in germany and the "consequences" part includes:
- politicians losing their position
- arguably laschet losing the race for chancellor
- improved early warnings systems
- new legislation
- and even criminal prosecution of some people responsible for the delayed disaster response

What exactly is the point of the topic if not to discuss reasons on why so many people died and how to avoid it in the future?

If all you want to do is send your thoughts and prayers, do nothing and let more people die in the future why do you need a topic at all?

The point of blame is misplaced. Not everything is a Republican or Democratic mistake. All of this pointing fingers at either president/party for 100% of the issues that happen is a very silly and exhausting thing to do. It's nothing but pointless and blind hate.

Besides, this topic was not posted by the OP to have an open discussion, but rather again, shove a stupid political statement down everyone's throats when this tragedy should have a different approach. It's never a civil and open ended discussion, at least not on the majority of this website.

Jesus while the thread could be stupid the amount of people here crying because death is being weponized as a political topic when it is time and time again here is pretty humorous. But it's a natural disaster!!!

Attention gets attention. No one here has kids apparently.

My kids are 5 & 2 but my Sister’s god daughter Blakely is still missing. Our family and friends have been directly impacted by this.

Then you know that if they toss their shit and you hand it back to them without doing anything they will just toss it on the floor again.
