You really believe the majority of NFL players are not on some sort of gear? And then subsequently pumped with pain killers.
It's become a huge fitness fad to fully disclose your stack now. The old fad was claiming natty when they clearly went, you know to sell duck eggs lmao.
I come from the days of Pete Rubish, Lilly brothers etc. Steroids just weren't talked about back then like they are now.
Same with the Olympics. Take weightlifting nearly banned due to the amount of usage found on back tests. When you're at the high end of things and it's your life, bread on the table, career, etc. You're going to do what the next guy is so you can keep competing. That's just how it is.
It's been that way for years at the top end. The sad part is the rise in usage in the amateur and average goer. The pressure to use. People with absolutely solid physiques feeling they're now average. Social media is a poison. Take someone like Alex. Dude looks great but feels the need to do gear. You have idiots like the tren twins or that twat always trying to flex money, all of them have massive followings and influence.
People don't want to chase that hard 10 year + grind. We're fossils, those that enjoy just hard work for the hard work, or clarity it gives you after a shit day, not snap Instagram photos with optimal lighting and filters.
Fitness industry is shit right now imo. The initial rise getting more people in the gym was great but now everyone wants the 15 minute abs again because it turns out commitment is hard.
They don't. Every mediocre juice monkey says the exact same thing- it's simply a cope instead of admitting they're mediocre and that they've debated themselves.
Vast majority of weightlifters are clean. In untested mickey mouse competitions surely people juice, but in prestigious competition they're extensively tested. And I know for a fact they're largely clean because I have a very similar physique and strength level while being completely natural.
I train 3 hours a day 5 days a week. These guys train 5 hours + per day and lots have been doing so since they were kids. Its hard for the mediocre athlete to fathom the level of discipline, dedication and training that the pros do, and so they assume steroids instead of recognizing quality and discipline.
I agree the fitness industry is shit though. Juice monkeys are elevated and they pretty much all look like trash with trash skin and terrible mobility, enticing kids to hop on juice. And they all look 20 years older than they are, drop like flies, and always seem to have a hernia. At least in Arnold's day they took a small fraction of the stuff people take now and they all looked better. And yeah not many people appreciate the lifestyle and art of training like crazy for years naturally, the masses want instant results.
In super heavyweight divisions I'm sure there's alot more abuse, but every weight class below that these guys are largely clean.
