. There's a ton of good coming out of the bill.

Those that will be involved in the removal of medicaid will have other options like Health Insurance Marketplace, Basic Health Programs (in some states), and employer-sponsored plans. Those eligible for Medicare due to age or disability will also have access to that program. The bill protects and strengthens Medicaid for those who rely on it—pregnant women, children, seniors, people with disabilities, and low-income families—while eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse. The One Big Beautiful Bill removes illegal aliens,

Those insurance programs you mention as options, also have the ability to decide to not accept some people. In other words they are not really options.

All the big beautiful bill will accomplish is tax cuts for the rich.

I see it more as a sign of how the system is. In order to get what we want (giant funding for ICE and border wall, good) you have to make a million deals with every tom dick harry who wants their pound of flesh, adding all manner of sludge and pork to a massive omnibus bill.

This is something Elon Musk failed to grasp in his sperg out. Yes ideally Washington DC ran lean and efficient but it doesn't, and can't for generations, or ever.

This is the strongest argument against parliamentary democracy

The principal problem is that yeah everyone wants their pound of flesh. They don't have the best interests of the nation in mind, but only their district. And if one rep gets a bag of goodies, every rep wants a bag of goodies. And then a lot of bags of goodies starts to get expensive. It's a system that fundamentally spirals into collapse

Not sure I love corporations being allowed to fully expense facilities rather than have it capitalized and amortized over its useful income producing life.

On one hand the hope is companies will now be further incentivized to build facilities for American manufacturing allowing them to significantly reduce their tax burden by immediately expensing building costs compared to your historical realization over time. But on the other hand now the federal gov't is getting less tax and if we're being real, manufacturing in the USA to remain competitive with overseas will be mostly automated so you have high upfront facility costs due to also paying full automation that will now all be tax deductible upfront.

I see what they're trying to do in efforts to spur domestic manufacturing but only time will tell here.

There's lots of other tax considerations in this Bill that are pretty interesting but what's more interesting to me is administration of such changes.

Often we see tax legislation change but the difficult part is always how you administer it, prevent circumvention, not overburden individuals or small business etc. There's always a huge disconnect between politicians and practicality.

That's an unverified assumption - the alternative system has a historical track record of political stability and prosperity over many hundred years - America is now 250 years old and already had a large civil war & narrowly avoided a second one. The alternative system in America has never been tried. There exists today a once in a 250 year window to usher in a new system of progress & prosperity with modern science and technology driving it.

It'll accomplish much more than that, but let's just let it run its course and everyone will see what happens.
