Absolutely none of that is relevant to the initial argument or what I just said lol. You tried to say his +/- was average when star player sits and its absolutely not average. Not even close rofl. It's one of the most insane you'll ever see in a series compares to his teammates and the outcome. Putting the blame on him for losing is diabolical πŸ˜‚

+/- is highly influenced by your teammates

Try TS% instead, oh wait Embiid was sub 50% TS that series in games 6 and 7

jimmy butler was +98 in embiid's best +/- year.

clearly +/- means nothing if embiid has never sniffed anything called a finals

Influenced by teammates? Really?

That 7 game playoff series vs Toronto:

Embiid +89
Simmons -16
Butler +15
Tobias -33
Redick -2
Scott -4
Monroe -15
Ennis -21

Influenced by who!?!? Usually when someone has a really good +/- there are others as well. Nobody else had a good one. The only other in the positive was Butler and he was just +15 in a series they lost by 19 points.

Idk if you're comprehending how insane a +89 is over a 7 game series when nobody else on his team is anywhere close. It didnt matter who was one the floor otherwise. Embiid on floor = they win. Embiid off floor = they're ass.

Game 6 he was +40 in 36 minutes. In a game they won by 11.
Game 7 he was +10 in 46 minutes. In a game they lost by 2.

Blaming Embiid is wild. He was the only reason they were where they were. And this was before he was in his prime MVP years.

For his career Embiid's postseason +/- is an absurd +321 in 59 games. It's safe to say he has carried a franchise on his back and they've been reliant on him.

He's played a lot of weak teams in the 1st round and has a grand total of 0 wins against top 4 teams. For all the people who want to shit on Butler, Tobias, and Harden well... they've all beaten better teams.

And the point of this convo is who's fault is that? Blaming Embiid in a series where they dominate in minutes he's on the floor?

We know the Toronto series was a crazy gap, but how about that one where they lost to the Haws in 7 games? Embiid averaged 31/13/4/2/1 with a 60% TS and was +51 for the series. Meanwhile the second best player on his team and his All-Star counterpart didn't attempt a single 4th quarter field goal in games 4, 5, 6, and 7 πŸ˜‚

Ben Simmons still locked Trae Young down to sub 40% shooting (who was negative plus/minus in the series)

you talk about teammates when this was Trae's running mates : John Collins, Clint Capela, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Kevin Huerter, Danilo Gallinari, and Lou Williams

some decent role players but overall very mid

76ers had by far the best player in the series and his secondary star shut down Atlanta's top option. with how thin the margins were and how close the role players were talent wise... there is no excuse to lose that series. Embiid is just not him

Defending Ben Simmons in that series, who should have been benched, is kinda crazy tbh. He quit on the team. He wasnt even looking to score. He was horrible. Look at him now, this is the version we had that series. That was Embiid's co-star?

And then blaming a guy who averaged 33/13, played elite defense, and was a series best +/- for losing is kinda insane. But you won't blame Jokic when he's like -40 every playoff series, plays horrendous defense, and he loses and you immediately blame his teammates πŸ˜‚

You blame Jokic for losing to the best team in the NBA but we can’t blame Embiid for losing to a mid fucking Hawks team? You’re so biased it’s insane
