some are yes/no questions, some aren't, either way I'd rather browse jsp than engage in mind numbing small talk which then leads to someone telling me about their life unless they're a female that I want to fuck/settle down with, not some random guy
Why don't you stop giving them tacit approval encouraging small talk, take a lead and engage in a conversation you do want to talk about?
Sounds to me like you have no social skills to be engaging and have an expectation for others to be interesting while providing nothing of value in return.
The other guy probably doesn't have much skills either but at least he is trying to build rapport with his work colleagues and you are blaming him for your inability.
He is a team player and you are a bitter forever alone coffee boy that looks down on people.
