Theres unfortunately no reliable public numbers. Some armchair experts cant infer an amount based on statements by public officials and sketchy video footage online, but its most definitely inaccurate.

Youre spot on about interceptor missiles and the very limited supply of them. Israel primarily uses davids sling and arrow2/3 for ballistic missles and the iron dome for low-altitude bottle rockets.( dont forget to thank uncle sam for the recent arrivals of the THAAD systems and GMD aswell and aegis systems on da boatys and the birds that shoot em down aswell)This whole tit-for-tat saga that began on april 1st when the israelis bombed that silly embassy has been an adventure by iran trying to see if israels aa/ad can be reliably penetrated -- it can.

Iran has thousands of missiles and can make them faster and cheaper than the usa can make interceptor missiles. This is the crux of the problem for israel. The houthis showed the world that even the fucking united states navy had to back off from the red sea cause cheap drones and a couple of ASMs can simply deplete a carrier groups stockpile of SM-3s.

Iran has enough missiles to completely destroy israel. So why is getting a nuke such a big deal, you might ask? Because it gives iran the ability to NEVER be susceptible to a ground invasion for the rest of history. This is something that their current stockpiles of missiles cant achieve, because as the israeli air force has shown, they are vulnerable to f35s (again, you can thank uncle sam for the birds and GEOINT). This gives iran the ability to immediately start funding its proxies more brazenly, because it no longer has to worry about defence. Im kinda rambling on here but if youre curious about the real reason israel is attacking iran, its not because of irans nuclear aims. The only country in tbe world that can take out irans underground enrichment facilities is the US, with its b2s carrying GBU bunker busters.
