This claim seems to rely on indigenous peoples' claims to the land. Yet, Mexico as a colonial offshoot of Spain is most certainly not a country founded by indigenous peoples' of North America. Granted, mesoamerican cultures are a greater % of the general population than for example the US, but Mexico is literally just the Spanish version of a large North American colony that gained independence from Europe.

Even if it wasn't a Spanish diaspora country, mesoamerican cultures did not occupy the American Southwest.

The claim seems also to hinge on the lands ceded in the treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo in which Mexico officially recognized this annexation in exchange for peace. That is not only right of conquest, but a legal and official secession and recognition of territory. You cannot invalidate this based on muh feelings without another war.
