Trump doing 180 on his campaign promises. Huge segment of his base will be lost as a result if the pork flys.
I highly doubt this. Many folks don’t really care about policy anymore. We’re too tribal and it simply devolves into red team/blue team. The people who claimed to care about the debt and deficit yesterday will temporarily forget about it since trump is pushing to pass this bill because it’s the red team doing it.
Maybe it hurts him with a select few independents, but I doubt this really moves the needle much among his base.
