Elon was anti-woke, but when it came to economic policy, he was an oldschool Republican. Of course he wouldn't care about cuts to social security or medicare, but the GOP is wise to push a tax bill without such cuts which would definitely be electoral poison. And of course he's mad about cuts to subsidies for e-mobility.

Elon in March: "We must cut government spending on leftist causes!"
Elon in June: "Nooo, not like that!!!!"

Before fixing the country? Deporting 20 million ++ aliens costs alot of money (Erik Prince's men won't be cheap) as does building the wall and establishing new institutions

Cutting wasteful spending, getting rid of the self-defeating, anti-growth Green Agenda, deporting millions of illegals who are net drains on society, staying clear of direct involvement in foreign wars, general pro-growth and pro-economy policies, getting the NATO allies to spend more on their own defense - those are all policies of the Trump administration which will directly or indirectly reduce the deficit in the coming years.

Truly laying the ax on social security, medicare, food stamps and similar welfare programs would be political suicide at this point in time. Nor is now the time to truly decimate defense spending. There is still a ton of room for cutting waste in the Pentagon budget, so maybe that's the last big of the low-hanging fruit left.

It's pretty transparent to me how self serving he is, considering:

1) He was a raging leftist up until it affected him personally, which was his son becoming transgender

2) He only supported Trump *after* they tried to kill him (what if they did? Would Elon support the assassins?)

3) He rages against the bill as they decided to cut EV and Solar subsidies, which largely prop up his companies.

4) He's been posting alot of nonsense propaganda in favour of Solar power, to very little engagement (this upsets him).

5) He refuses to accept that Solar and EVs are a dud.

6) He refuses to admit responsibility or accept that he's a degenerate pervert with contempt for family values and Christianity

It’s never a good time and when the debt is another 4-5 trillion higher it’s going to be even worse tbh. Unfortunately we need radical change now
