An one hour video that is really worth watching.
Giving some interesting insights.

But make sure, if you do not agree with, you do some research. But this is quite balance I think.

I’ll save everyone an hour.

Iran became a theocracy because the alternative was communism/socialism when Shah regime failed, and in 1970s in the middle of Cold War it would have been a huge humiliating defeat to have Iran turn commie. So the lesser “evil” was chosen to release Ayatollah from a French jail and have him lead the revolt to turn Iran into fundamentalist Shiite Theocracy as religious fundamentalists would never agree with atheist commies.

Yay or nay?

The video explained even further back. The Sunni's, the Shia, sharia law etc etc

It also touched on the Safavid dynasty and this all leads up to World War 1 / 2 . And It also touches on Britain and Russia's role in Iran during the first two wars.

Mostly agree.

Would add that the shah was delusional in that he wanted to simultaneously westernize the country while at the same time remain an absolute monarch. Big oil reserves gave him a big ego, even more so when France and Britain begged him for loans (which he gave). He was also foolish for giving interviews in which he expressed his opinions freely (as though he was just another politician and not a head of state). The 2500th anniversary party also didn't help (air conditioned tents in the desert and food flown in from France while he has people struggling to feed themselves). Guy was so caught up in how great he was, he didn't even realize how bad of a situation he was in.

Tldr: he was an enlightened absolutist but so far removed from reality that he was never going to succeed.

Does it talk about kermit roosevelt and operation ajax? I’ll listen to the video later, Iran has some of the most interesting ancient and modern history.

It does briefly, covers quite a bit of history so its not incredibly in-depth on each thing it touches.

He did a broad video. Some of his videos are good though. Should check it out.

He did one on the Jews , I m watching it. But some people in the comments think he is doing Jewish propaganda, but I think those dudes are too emotional.

Ryan is quite fair in most of his videos. I wouldn't say he is without bias, but he is generally fair and neutral enough

As usual
A wealthy ruling class uses religion to control the masses
This has been a common thread far back since the Egyptians
The deities change every time to change the narrative up a bit
Its almost like its fake or something

The iran revolution didn't help things though

in the opening text 0:04 he claims he is not a product of academia. some people would insist he be dismissed out of hand. academia certainly has value but it also has its problems like group think and arrogance. when a person become knowledgeable on topic a thing can happen, its called thinking outside the box. sometimes even a person from academic survives the process and is also able to do this.
...........just thought i share :) post looks interesting
