msi x370 sli plus (ms-7a33)
amd ryzen 7 1700x eight-core 3.60 ghz
32 GB ram
geforce rtx 3080 12gb
932 gb ssd samsung ssd 870 qvo

I currently run 5 games, 1 primary and 4x with nohd mod and that seems fine unless im playing mosaic..
any upgrade suggestions that arent too far out of the box?

you might get into a VRam bottleneck if wanting to run more instances

So would sell these 2:

  • Upgrade the RAM to at least 64GB which will also be used as VRam for the integrated graphics on CPU

allowing you to bypass your current 12GB VRam bottleneck

Windows 11, specifically 24H2, seems to hit performance noticeably for D2R. You could try using Windows 10 if you're not on it currently

Might need to upgrade your RAM in both size and speed as well depending what you currently have. ~5 seems to be about people are getting with 32GB but they don't specify speeds and other info for context.

If you really wanted to nail what you need to order/do, I would check what your current bottleneck is by monitoring Task Manager/Resource Monitor or another 3rd party hardware monitoring software while you have as many clients open as possible

So no more security update after that
To play D2R still gotta connect to the internet even if playing offline or whatever

But I guess if u wanna keep an insecure machine on the same network as every other devices u be using then yea, just do that lmao

Not sure why but for some reason you think I hate Linux? Then again it seems you fail to take context into account pretty often. In our previous thread I simply said if he was having problems running powershell scripts then I wouldn’t recommend Linux because that’d be an obvious nightmare. Stating Windows is popular because they’re mainstream and streamlined is also just a fact. That doesn’t mean I think Windows is the only OS that should be around :rofl:

I linked a 8 parts indepth guide that even if someone dont know wtf about anything, they can still learn that those things exist
And there's enough youtube videos out there could follow along to set that up smoothly even without having the technical knowledge to do so
And those are actually better solutions regardless

Windows doesnt have a reason to be in 2025, not even for video gaming
