Thats what happens when you can openly tank and rack up an absurd amount of draft picks and the league doesn't interfere because you're a small market team anyway 🙄

They were bad two seasons in a row 2020-2021 and 2021-2022

And the main reason they were as bad as they were was SGA was hurt and only played 35/56 games in those seasons

They were never trying to tank like the 76ers and got overlooked because they weren't Philly

Lots of teams have done rebuilds - only one team has ever blatantly actively TRIED to be the worst team in the league 2013-2018



I don't even hate Hinkie for trying it, but I undertstand and support why the NBA had to put a stop to it

Trading Paul George and later Westbrook for young/unproven pieces and a bunch of draft picks was literally the definition of them starting the tank lol. They went from like a 50 win team to one of the worst in the league all within a year. Nobody had SGA pegged as an All-star let alone their franchise player and league MVP at the time of that trade. The Thunder made that trade sending PG13 for the 5x first round draft picks + pick swaps.

You obviously didnt watch the Thunder a few years ago? Its well known how blatant they were with their tanking.

Except Prestie worded it as "reposition, replenish, and rebuild" because he knew he'd get fined by the league if he used the word tanking. They tanked HEAVILY, but they also drafted really well. Racked up a fuck ton of draft picks and hit with a lot of them. And OKC is like the second smallest market in the league so they weren't gonna intervene.
