what would be your ideal mercenary under level 24 normal to help clear norm baal runs (mostly against wave 1 fire immune)
I'll be running with a Bowa zon

if possible has to survive 8P norm baal

lmk what Merc and gear you think would be best

But huh .. if you push it a few levels, you get insight possible at level 27. Which is possibly the best weapon for that level range, if in an eth exceptional polearm - though mind the str and dex reqs... If you get it, get prayer merc = Insane regen both life and mana.

Otherwise, strength has not much ed%, but has 25% crushing blow and 7% leech.

A 6 socketed eth pike with lots of damage jewels and an amn rune or two would probably beat it though. Sick leech. Amn is level 25 though. Though you can make life leech helmet - blood crafted items.

Act 2 defiance merc is probably the best option for survival...

Armor .... there is hawkmail, no chill merc, but i guess eth 4 socket armor with some kind of great jewels is the best option. Though maybe 4 socket eth gothic armor with 4 x p rubies is a good option, like 150+ hit points.

Helmet can be the same thing, 3 sock, but then you can get leech from blood crafted helmet. Which can give merc good survivability. Duskdeep for cheap option.

I am just considering the option of a merc for wave1 so I can get max exp from norm baals

-Merc will get access to bo from cta
-Merc will get chant but it's not gonna work for wave 1 boss
-When I start baalin I'll be lvl 25 but are Mercs lvl24, I don't rly have time to play with merc gear once I start running

Ah the fire immune colenzo. Hmm. Well any eth pike will give merc like 150-300 damage.. with 5% mcrit.. he will probably cill colenzo within 5-10 seconds if you manage him a bit, and deal some damage yourself.

But when merc hits 25, he will too get lvls, but you can always go back to level 2 and rehire, mercs will be appr. at your lvl. BUT!! Big beware. Remove gear before you hire a new 1 or he will lose the gear.......
