Huh? Or how about he hit his prime NBA age....
PG was a 5x All-Star with multiple all-NBA and all-defense honors under his belt...all prior to even going to the Thunder lol. He was electric in Indy and if it wasnt for LeBron he may have had a ring. Then he went off in OKC and made a run for MVP.
He's a future hall of famer. To call him a bum in his prime is WILD. Hell, he was an All-star just a year ago and had his best shooting season of his career at 33/34 years old. Safe to assume his first season in Philly was an anomaly more than anything else.
I mean I'll grant you calling him a BUM is a stretch - although relative to SGA alone he's a bum
but even that "All Star" season was 22.6/5.2/3.5 which is ok
Sabonis was 20/13.7/8.2 on WAY better efficiency , Top 10 in both BPM and VORP and was shooting over 61% by the ASG
That's a joke that PG was picked over him.
And yes any player that gets 9x all star appearances is going to the HOF - the HOF isn't what it was --- Amar'e Stoudemire is going to get in for Christ's sake
Paul George is a great player , and I regret saying BUM - but the trade was still massively lopsided and a massive overpay for what is essentially a career 20/6/3.5 player who is an outstanding defender, he's an average all star with longevity, not a generational player
