Also eligible for hall of fame, but I doubt he'll get voted in for a long, long time.
Personally the MLB choose a weird time to do this. Sticking to their guns for such a long time and now, in the middle of may 2025 they're just like "Dawww okay Pete Rose can come back in." Like wtf are they hiding this time.
Ok so some clarity. He's been removed from the "Permanently Ineligible" list. Whatever that is... and will take effect on his death. Isnt that what the circumstances always were? What changed? Why am I seeing this everywhere now?
https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/45115659/pete-rose-shoeless-joe-jackson-players-reinstated-mlbI guess the big takeaway is he's eligible for the HOF.
in regards to the timing, Pete rose passed away several months ago, i think Sept. So it has been a little bit of time since, i understand why they choose now. Yesterday was also Pete Rose Day at Great American Ballpark, may have contributed as well.
He is now elidgable to recieve votes into the hall. So the people who have a vote can choose. I do not. But if i did, i think i would vote for him.
