Tommy it will cost you more in planning, sanding, cutting, oiling, assembling everything together than just putting up an ad for a free/cheap table.

Unless you going for a very rough outdoor park bench or just have lots of time on your hands it will take a lot to do it right.

I think you're better off just buying a used folding table or something similar in shape for cheap instead of spending the time and money to do the project you're thinking about. Not gonna turn out the way you're thinking and gonna be a huge hassle most likely.
