they force it ? or is it like apple where apps stop working until you do it ?

Eventually my phone will just update despite me being giving the choice to postpone for a few days. Without warning it'll just start. I never know how much longer I have though.

thats awful i was able to turn all updates off in settings on iphone i refuse to update. some apps stopped working but most just use old versions

You used to be able to do that with android but not anymore. My only options are "check for update" , "auto update wifi only" (will still eventually be forced) and "continue update".
