There's dark forces in MAGA. He pardoned people who beat up cops and tried to overturn the government. He invites them to Mar-a-Lago. Cultists like Goom will rationalize whatever he does, and before the term ends, things could get very ugly.
What really worries me is that I know whatever he does, no matter how illegal or immoral, his cult will defend it. He's an evil sociopath, and the only restrictions on him are the courts. His supporters do not have American values.
Are you sure this story in particular has anything to do with Trump or MAGA?
The woman was minding her own business at a park when first something was stolen from her bag and she was confronted and followed by a persistent Somali rapist who very much wanted to provoke her and capture it on video. The donations she got are a transparent response by the public to the crowdfunding for Karmelo Anthony after he murdered someone. Republicans didn't really weigh in on it at all, and the only politicians and activists to seize upon it in the first day were the NAACP and DFLers in Rochester who jumped early and heaped praise on a pedophile.
I am 100% sure that even if Trump had never come onto the national stage, given the trajectory we were on with the pre-existing Black Lives Matter movement and the inevitability of flashpoints like George Floyd, we would still have stories similar to this one as Americans swung the pendulum back. That's the nature of cyclical social trends, extremes lead to backlashes. I've said before Trumpism is an example of a safety valve, when Americans were fed up with the hollowing out of our economy and liberal social extremism. If we didn't have the steam release valve opened, that pressure would have boiled up and maybe someone actually dark and dangerous taken his place. To pretend Trump is responsible for events which don't involve him, when every logical analysis of social trends says would occur anyway (and perhaps be much more dire), well that's just TDS
