So always a good time to invest in solar
back in 2020 and onward, seeing the grid shutdown on the most bullshits reasons should have been a wake up call to many already but is never too late
but tbh is more work too.. more clutter..
can still have a winter balcony garden with a few thingies here and there still
there's some that do well all year round
pretty much just 1 google search away
but when can even figure out how to still have eggies stored for winter through things like pickled eggs (hard boiled stored in jars) or dehydrated eggs (that can be remade in scrambled eggies or for baking)
then am sure u could figure something out with your harvest prior to winter as well
A rocket stove is also an amazing investment. You can also DIY your own for next to nothing it can cook your food, heat water and warm your house all you need to do is gather up some twigs.
Solar panels are nice but they end up costing a lot more and obviously don't work when it's cloudy.
Rocket stove, solar panel, maybe a small wind turbine or a hydro turbine depending where you live and you can live indefinitely off the grid.
