There's quite some items up at lvl 10 for very cheap that could easily take u to 20+ atm

Just search the market for lvl 10 item, u can also check the box at the bottom "only show items i can use" and it will only show barb usable items
Search for 25-50+ EE on armors aswell
str on charm is the cheapest damage u could go for
so maybe u search for 15str on lvl 1-10 items


These 2 are very cheap and very useful for u atm

as for armors normally robes are more expensive when they have stats as u can use them on all types of characters (except for guardian, but dont do that to urself where u start one of those, lol)
Barb is good choice (rogue is also nice because u can use alot more weapon types, but not any heavy armors)
Barb can use all types of armor, but when u go for EE armor, skip robes totally for now

I found some seemingly good cheap gear for level 15, so I will just manually level to 15 and use these new items.

you can find decent enough gear on the mp to get you to about lvl 40-45 by spending less then 10-15fg per item

i would suggest joining an Ls guild if you can and start doing group climbs, to gear up for your lvl 50+ mobs aim for a 100EE + weapon (same for armor - stay away from robes) that will work for both your feeder(starter) class as well as samurai in the event you MQ early. Point heavily into vita until you get about 100, this will help you get down some mobs before having to regen in the later levels.
