Unless you really care about maps, there’s no shame in resetting a maze if you get a bad teleport trap or just get a bad roll on your maze where you’re constantly having to backtrack to get to undiscovered squares.
Here’s an example of what I just encountered. I’m going to reset my maze here because I got a bad teleport trap trap and consider undiscovered squares more important than finishing this maze for what will probably be a shit map. :D

The only thing I really care about is killing mobs fast and uncovering new squares for a chance at a chest, so I should probably reroll maps anytime I have to backtrack ~10 or more spaces. I hadn’t considered that option - thanks for the great tip!
Trapdoors seem particularly bad for solo runs. Harder monsters, and from what I have read little to no increase in loot or experience. Anytime I hit a trap door I’ve been resetting immediately.
