59 Hostages still held in gaza based on latest reports, with 22 dead (israel wants their bodies back) and 37 presumed still alive.
ofc no one mentions that 9500+ Palestinians are held in Israel.

the mental gymnastics can be tricky when stuff like this is examined.

How many of those 9500 Palestinians are soldiers/fighters?
You can't seriously equate civilian hostages with captured enemy combatants...

Every single jewish civilian have to serve in military ... But you call kids throwing rocks soldiers /fighters? or the women or political people soldiers fighters? They arrest a lot of them for no reason pretty much... maybe for the crime of liking a video that is hamas friendly..

why not? its easy for Israel to spout lies, dont be a hypocrite.
why dont you go read up a bit and educate yourself properly on the facts.

I see no need to humor anyone that continues to defend this farce.

Arresting enemy combatants is a legitimate action for any state, at least those which are still interested in their own survival. Taking civilian hostages is a crime.
You were clearly trying to draw a moral equivalency between the two, which is why I pushed back.

Are you actually pretending to live under a rock? Many of those incarcerated are under 18, as young as 12. They are not combatants, they are kids. These are civilians, and they’re being tried under a military system that has a 99% conviction rate, often with confessions obtained under duress (torture) or without access to legal representation. This is NOT news and neither is the policy of administrative detention (holding people without charge for years and in cases decades) news.

here you go, Israel at its finest:

Exactly, every Israeli actually killed by Hamas was a valid military target.
Most of the Israeli casualties from the Oct 7th prisoner revolt, were from the IDF doing air strikes, and firing artillery on their own citizens in Kibbutz.

These two things unfortunately aren't mutually exclusive. Particularly not when we're talking about 16 or 17 year olds...

Israel has launched further attacks on Syria stating that they are protecting the Druze minority in Syria. The audacity and hypocrisy is amazing. Does this mean that Iran can launch strikes on Israel stating they are protecting the Palestinian minority. its all so confusing.
hypocrites at it again.

Yahwa Sinwar's brother Mohamed Sinwar, who became the top leader of Hamas after his brother's death, has now been reportedly (unconfirmed) killed in an Israeli airstrike
Mohamed Sinwar and the bodies of 10 aides were found in a tunnel in Khan Yunis... underneath the European Hospital, after that airstrike that the western media decried as a war crime

we've got fun anti-israeli articles like this;

Israel falsely claimed Gaza hospital had tunnel after striking it

As it turns out, the EU hospital indeed had a tunnel, and the top Hamas leader in it;

Defense Minister Israel Katz on Sunday told the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee that there are rising indications that Gaza Chief Mohammed Sinwar is dead.

Katz made his statement just as IDF sources on Sunday told The Jerusalem Post that it did not recognize foreign reports that Gaza Chief Mohammed Sinwar's body has been found with around a dozen of his aides, including Rafah Brigade commander Mohammed Shabanah.

It appears that the IDF will wait either for Hamas to officially announce him as dead or its own intelligence regarding his body.
