At least for me, this is not a reality unless in the last couple years. Done a few nomad treks across Europe, no one cared about US origins really. If anything, received special treatment even in places like France. Similar in Asia, was not a concern at all. Usually just the British were drawing attention.
Most foreigners don't actually buy into the stereotypes is what I'm saying, just a little tit for tat joking sometimes. The Maga Koolaid Flag Thumpers are the segment of the population NOT** doing most of the actual travel abroad.
You come visit USA to get that experience
There's undoubtedly obnoxious individuals from most cultures, Eastern Euros at resorts, North Americans in South East Asia, etc. Americans are just going to get the label because they represent the largest amount of visitors from North America and without a doubt there is some cultural differences. Flag jackers are those who are usually pretty cautious individuals, and individuals going into your less established accommodations lets call it. Is it needed, no, you can likely just show curtesy, show you care by learning some language and customs ahead of time prior to visiting and be polite and no one will care.
But it is still a thing for sure that's alive and well.
I wonder what our resident Singaporean friend just out of curiosity thinks the average person thinks of visiting Americans. Probably not much but i'd be curious.
give us your ranking on top 3 worst visiting countries.
For me in Canada, fucking Ausies on ski-hills. The lifties and staff are amazing which are all ausies, the wealthy ones visiting on vacation, man they can be brutal. Tossing beer cans all over the hills. So in that sense, its class level not where they are from.
