consider this your warning to spoilers now. i'm not going to really start with spoilers, but i am not holding myself back in future posts here. expect it to happen at some point.

this is an anime i've known about for a long time, but have never gotten around to watching it till this week.
since i've watched this on YT, i'm not positive if this cut off a bit short, or if it was meant to end in a trauma-inducing way.


i did some reading, as i was unable to accept such an ending. and the story does seem to continue on thankfully.
i've read there is a newer adaption, though i'm not certain what all it covers.

so... there are a few things i want to address early for this topic.

1. is the 2016 adaption worth watching? i've read some opinions that really praised the first studio that brought the manga to anime. wishing they were the studio to continue the story.
before i jump into the new anime... it isn't complete trash is it? i'd rather live with the trauma of the first anime than cheapen the experience with corpo cash grabs.

2. there are a few reasons i watched this anime, but there is 1 specifically that made me click the video and watch it now.

i did not notice this song played during the anime i watched. i'm going to assume it's in the 2016 version, but would like someone to verify that if they can.

3. i can't remember what 3 was. i feel as though i am wide-awake dreaming. thoughts are forgotten as fast as they are thought.
the ending of this anime has me... off.

i don't mind a taste cryptic vagueness but, this is too vague for the scenario.

are you stating that there is content missing from the video i provided?

Could be that or a number of other things... mirrored (reversed) video clip (ensuring they can not get sued since it is all backwards... even the text and added sub created for it.) ... could be shorter clips, also missing some parts, wrong order of episodes, random fancy framing making the visual effect smaller even in full view. A number of things.

you know, i wasn't really asking anyone to click the link. however, if someone was going to blame the link, i'd hope they would have at least clicked it before throwing out a spew of random accusations.

i don't even know how to respond to this bologna. you can't even tell me, at current time, if the video ends where it should.

Why would I click a link to YT knowing what I have come across from that site? Just because you get 1 link to a good episode, it doesn't mean jack $hite that the next auto link goes to the next one... oh... don't even get me started with all other stuff.

my issue is you coming into this thread claiming the video is the issue, with zero knowledge if it was.

you basically just told me to re-watch the 1997 version with a hinted promise that things would be different.

have you ever watched the 1997 Berserk anime? or did you just come in here to shit on YT for no particular reason?

edit: btw that link... is all the episodes on 1 video. it's nearly 10 hours long.

Interpretation is based on the individual... i.e. myself and my comments based on me watching it on YT years ago and you currently watching it now? ... what you are asking for and accusing me of is a difference from interpretation and perspective of 3 decades... 1997 version aired on YT later on by a bunch of other people etc to the new version and accounts?

There are sites like Crunchyroll with both original and remastered or additional clips... there are also sites where you read the Manga or Manwha (I don't read any of those things, I used to read comic books like around the 1980s.

I watched the original ... but that was how many decades now? Also watched some of the remake stuff as well, also got confused in watching some of the OVA's & Fanfare stuff posted on YT... I fell for some of them, I am a noob... however, I got clever and stopped watching YT because of it...I use different sites... not one or two or three... I don't pay for Crunchy or those sites (my problem)... but then... you can pay to view the original and the extras.

in "generality", i agree that YT is not where you go to watch anime.
however, with a title like: Berserk 1997 complete HD og jp. it checked a lot of boxes if true to the title. which it 100% appears to be. ...the complete og series in jap with eng subs.

i got lucky? sure.

this is done now, it's over but, i would have been absolutely irate if i had blindly re-watched this elsewhere and nothing changed. just more trauma...

I have watched all they have out. Aside from Griffittths , it was bittersweet. The revamp isnt anything you haveng missed really in the original. Through the seasons I felt it could have been better. Not a fan of CGI in the following seaon. And it seemed to stray away from a few characters, at least in the second season.
