If were being fair, much of what is said here about liberals could be said about many historical movements that have lead to vast net positive shifts.
That is the nature of our democracy, liberals push new ideals, some of which are far over-blown as we're seeing now, conservatives push-back and a middle-ground is met over a span of time and society becomes more progressive. Its how many barriers in history were abolished.
Currently were in a period where ideals have been pushed and shoved down throats too far, ideals that are too far out in left-field and they are being pushed back against, hence the election of Trump. But its just an ebb and flow, some of those ideals will make their way through and just be mainstream normal things now, some get put back on the shelf and hopefully never to see the light again.
Getting bogged down in random comment sections, and talking about random purple hair people articles or whatever that's just simpleton tabloid style headlines to grab people and clickbait them. Its like old headlines in the newspapers about those god damn hippies.
I am happy to see some culling of the current ideals and the current pushback, it was due in the cycle of things.
The push back resulted in the MAGA movement. “Woke” ideas have led to the average American fighting back. Now we have a mess on our hands because things went WAY TOO FAR LEFT.
Some examples are the “blame the white man” movement that BLM pushed which helped lead to both of Trump’s victories. When you paint the majority as the “bad guy” the majority fights back with their votes.
The LGBTQ+ movement which has led to allowing grown adults parade in front of children in sex outfits on public streets. Resulted in the Target bathroom rape that ruined that little girls life. Resulted in grooming children for transition. This made even a lot of Democrats angry at the status quo.
The continued increase in debt. (Trump ran on a platform that promised to dwindle that. Which objectively has yet to be seen but since Congress agreed that 2025’s budget would be a replica of 2024 I doubt we will see improvements at all). Still it garnered him votes.
The overtaking of our country by unchecked illegal immigration. Which led to a surge in conservative Hispanic votes because even they think no one should be treated more special than them when Hispanic citizens did everything the proper way or were simply born here and want to be treated fairly.
The indoctrination of children and college aged youth towards specific political and social ideologies.
I could go one for a while on MAJOR issues that turned the country against the far left but it really did get bad. Not that MAGA is better.
For instance with MAGA comes a sub group of extreme racist behavior but ultimately the far left is way more concerning than the far right simply because most extreme racists know they will get beat up if they push too far while extreme left openly and regularly commits arson, vandalism and other forms of open season style crimes and then brags about it.
