Since when is "making the finals" an accomplishment??? Lmao

Celebrating 2nd place is wild stuff

Embiid couldn’t even get into the top 4 ONE TIME!

His best accomplishment is 5th place so why are you scoffing at 2nd lmao

He did eke out that Gold medal tho by abandoning his home country to play on a stacked team. Might be his last competitive tournament he ever plays in

2nd place, 5th place, 10th place. Who cares? You throwing a parade for almost winning now? If you don't come in first, guess what? You're still a loser rofl.

And basketball is a team sport. You can be incredible but if you don't have the right team and coach around you, and of course the luck of an easier playoff matchup, then sometimes it doesn't matter how good you are.

LeBron is considered by many to be the GOAT. Or second best ever. Certainly the greatest of his generation, right? Well he has 4 rings in 20 fucking years. Even the best to ever do it can only get one every 4 years on average.

Who just suddenly went from 5th-8th place one year to instant success which you define as winning it all? The only two I can think of are Curry and Timmy which have been ultra successful Top 5/Top 10 All-Time level stars

There are stages to success. Embiid couldn’t get to the next stages of 3rd/4th or 2nd. 1st place was 3 stages ahead of where Embiid peaked.

Let’s review the most recent winners of say the last 30 years?

I’m sure I’m even missing some ECF and WCF losses among these superstars before their 1st win

Jordan - lost in the ECF twice before winning
LeBron - lost in the Finals twice and ECF before winning
Giannis - lost in the ECF before winning
Dirk - lost in the Finals before winning
Hakeem - lost in the Finals before winning
Shaq - lost in the Finals before winning
Tatum/Brown - lost in the Finals and ECF before winning
Kobe - lost in the WCF before winning
Wade - lost in the ECF before winning
Curry - exception to the rule
Timmy - exception to the rule
Jokic - lost in the WCF before winning
Durant - lost in the Finals and WCF before winning
Kawhi - lost in the Finals before winning

Idk what you're even arguing anymore

Either you win a championship....or you don't. You're not having a parade for winning the conference or "making it out of the second round."

Some guys get very lucky paths to get just 1 ring. Look at Jokic, he has never even beaten a 50 win team yet he has a ring. There were 18 teams, yes...EIGHTEEN with a better record than any team the Nuggets beat in the postseason that year during their title run. Want to talk about ridiculously easy AND lucky...

Are you dense? I’m saying the vast majority of stars that win a ring made it to the Conference Finals or Finals before winning a championship

What did I say that wasn't true?

*50 win team in the playoffs. To clarify.

Oh I see, I stated that incorrectly. My bad, had a few beers tn watching the Phillies blow dick.

The year the Nuggets won the Championship (2023), when you look at the following season (last year) there were 18 teams with a better record LAST season than any of the teams the Nuggets beat the year prior to win it all.

They beat the following:
#8 seed Timberwolves (42-40)
#7 seed Lakers (43-39)
#4 seed Suns (45-37)
#8 seed Heat (44-38)

None of those teams would have even made the playoffs last year or most years for that matter 😂

This is what I mean by sometimes it's better to just get lucky once. Jokic is like 0 for a billion in the playoffs vs 50 win teams, but he got one lucky stretch against barely .500 teams 🤷‍♂️
