More so that the ruling elites and their political consensus around neo-liberal policies destroyed the American middle class - not that they care, the upper classes have done fabulously well for the last 30+ years.

This. Neoliberal globalization has enriched the Western elites at the expense of the Western middle class, while creating a small, emerging middle class in places like China as a side effect.

Okay. I myself will continue to be patient.

It's very crystal clear Trump wants to better our country and he has a very good team in comparison to his first 4 years and every current decision being made is a step in the right direction.

How is that clear?
All i see is rampant profiteering.

BUT it was packaged and sold to the American people as a way to reduce the cost of living!

free market, remember?

e- thanks again boomers.

If you folks really can't get behind what i'm telling you.

Look up pictures of china in the 1960-1970s,
they were still using bicycles and carts.

Then usa empowered china under the guise of cheap labor.
Look at china now compared to then.

yeah great plan guys n gals.

e2- meanwhile in USA 1960s-1970s there were big beautiful American made muscle cars.
Housing was plentiful, food was inexpensive, EVEN despite the 70s poverty.
Then reagan showed up, pumped money into the usa economy, which the boomers grandchildren have to pay for.

The grandchildren are paying for it now.
no more housing, no more muscle cars.
empowered china.

In simple terms, Donald Trump's tariffs are primarily designed to encourage people to buy products made in the U.S. rather than importing them from other countries. The idea is to make foreign goods more expensive by imposing taxes on them, which would, in theory, make local U.S. products more attractive to consumers because they would be cheaper in comparison. The goal behind this is to boost American manufacturing. By making imported goods more expensive, U.S. companies would have a better chance of competing in the market, thus encouraging businesses to produce more at home and, hopefully, create more jobs. This approach is often seen as part of a broader "America First" economic strategy, focusing on reviving industries that had been offshored over the years, like steel, automotive, and manufacturing.

just dumping this here for full clarity.

in practice: everything is more expensive now.
