Luckily there are enough intelligent liberals on here that point out very valid flaws in the guy rather than a bunch of opinions based on their emotions.

Two sentences later, he is an incompetent clown who doesn't know what he's doing and is driven by his ego rather than his greed.

So, do I get you right: Trump is a clown and a clueless moron who plunges the world into economic chaos through his pure ineptitude - but once he did that, he suddenly becomes business-savvy and expertly seizes on the opportunity which his own incompetence created? Is that what you're saying?

Fwiw, you can be both an evil con man and an incompetent clown. I think trump thought his tariff plan would go much bette than it did (because he is an incompetent clown), then when he realized he would have to cave he used that to enrich himself with insider trading (evil con man). The last part is more speculation based on his personality, but would you honestly be surprised if that is what happened?

Was the undo button panic or a feature though? I mean most of us already mentioned that tariffs can and have probably been used as a negotiating mechanism. If this was a way to start a fire under partners asses to get them to take the trade talks serious, it surely succeeded.

Edit: I should say, panic or just straight up, ego forfulling. Enjoys acting like he does and reaping the attention for it, which I think is more likely the case.

I don't think they are mutually exclusive to be honest. He could of both panicked but he also wanted trade deals with allies. The panic probably just forced the negotiations to happen on a faster time table.

I personally think he wanted renegotiated trade terms with Canada, Europe, Mexico. I don't actually think he intended to keep these massive tariffs on them. China is different obviously.
