sorry to reiterate: i am agnostic, i know that the west harps on about this point all the time, i simply dont care. maybe give us some info to support the claim that china is a credible competitor ?

Well not yet a credible competitor for worldwide sales at the moment since it only recently started producing for local market.

But let's see.

When I say Player 3 has entered the game, I will be precise and say they are going to try to challenge the Boeing and Airbus market.

Similar to the Automobile industry which they are doing with Electric cars.

tbh if the US continues down this path long term, forcing other nations to self innovate, and if the US does not import cheaper goods/ideas, then the US will enable its competitors to catch up. really dumb.

I wouldn't say they are dumb. But it is inevitable they have to go down this route because they have no choice really.

The only other choice is have a proper World War and I can obviously tell you they will be confident. If you ask anyone on Pard, they will tell you 200% that US will win.

Once they win the war they will just re calibrate the entire global system again.

If they win or to some ...when they win.

The main reason the US would win is it’s the only country not scared to nuke someone. That’s a fact. EVERYTIME a conflict comes up there are always a large number of people here that say “Why are we sending troops? Just turn that place into a glass parking lot”.

That fear alone keeps most of the world in check realistically.

This is perhaps the biggest issue, that you believe US is the only country that is not afraid to nuke someone.

Who else has done it? We can’t say someone else would do it because they are capable or have threatened it. The US very rarely threatens it but is the only country that has actually done it.

The US also has brutally bombed more countries than any other country in modern history.

Seems to me if ANYONE would nuke someone it’s easily likely the US.

For the bold part.
You need to think about it.

Just because the US have done it before it doesn't mean they are the only one who dares.

Just because China haven't been aggressive globally for the past 2000 years, it doesn't mean they will not be in the future.

You get what I mean?

Our two top dog politicians right now trying to entice voters by saying NEW homes up to 1M (liberal party) or 1.3M (conservative party) will be GST exempt.

This is not what Canada needs.

1) This does not impact the supply issue. So now if sellers know buyers are getting that discount, they are just going to increase the price , maybe not the full GST amount, but a portion. Were in a market with limited supply afterall.
2) Its only on NEW builds and current construction costs make new builds so prohibited anyways. There's six figures sunk into builds even before a shovel hits the ground. All this red-tape needs to be removed if you want real builder incentive to happen. Pre-construction right now vs resale isn't even close.
3) This does not stop investor homes and if anything it helps investor buyers, which are going after condos, so now you're just incentivising the build of these small condos again which is not what families want.

I don't know, Canadian politicians just suck on housing, probably because its what props Canada up so much so its hard to actually impact it in a meaningful way for average Canadians.
