what an interesting video when considering matthew 6:5
Hello,
Matthew 6:5
King James Version
5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
If we look at this verse we're seeing a few things. Jesus said 'thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are,' and He then revealed to us the posture of their hearts. The posture of their hearts is 'that they may be seen of men.' As this man stands praying before the Lord's congregation, for one I don't know that he is praying to be seen of men, and for two, he is praying to God in the midst of the congregation; whether this man is a shepherd of the Lord's people I know not, but God does not see as we see, and He God looks on the heart. Matthew 6:5 is not a prohibition against public prayers or congregational prayers and supplications before The Lord God, it is a Teaching to guard our hearts against a particular intention; in the case of Matthew 6:5, the intention is 'praying to be seen of others,' rather than praying through a heart of sincerity, with honest intentions before The Lord.
