He will probably make you scream for a month or two and when his position is finally threaten.

So this is what he is going to do to the market.

1. Tank the market in such a way that it might create a revolt against him.
2. Get his boys to buy the stocks on cheap. ( which obviously will benefit him and his family business. )
3. Turn it around when it really finally threatens him.
4. Boom the stock market rise by 50% and tell everyone, look I made the market back up by 50% which is a historical feat within a few weeks.
5. Sign free trade deals with a couple of allied NATO nations and lowering down their tariffs or completely scrap it.
6. Blame China and get everyone to go back on hating China because it is their fault.
7. continue a reverse Kissinger overture to the Russians to contain China.

This is pretty selfish but honestly if the market can stay down for a few years or go sideways during all of what is probably close to maturing earnings for some of us I won't be upset. We go into a lost decade scenario I'll be annoyed.

That's not my prediction though.

I think the there are a few situations from what you said. One is 1996/7 to early 2000s

1996/7 George Soros and his market manipulation
1999 /early 2000s dot com bubble.

The bad thing that really wrecked everything was 2007 / 2008. But the Chinese loan you a crap ton and begged Obama not to print more money but he did and Obama and team

This time round if anything happens, US can always go to India and grab those loans and print more money again because the Chinese ain't going to give you money , neither would the Japanese.

At least in Europe Trump has some success.
Europe needs USA in NATO, so we will do anything USA asks us to do

Europe willingly chose that route themselves - they wanted to work less, retire earlier, have a too forgiving and easily exploitible social benefit scheme, and they saw the minimum 2% contribution to NATO as a tribute that they were forced to meet instead of a rational investment in their own security interests.
