I haven’t been doing graphic requests for long, but I just wanted to use my designs skills to make some forum gold and fund some of my and my friends ladder experience for nostalgia since we don’t have time to grind hours for items.
I don’t know how often this happens but what I’ve noticed is the amount of requesters making graphic requests and wasting artists time in the end by not choosing one. I myself experienced a couple of interests in my work, but fail to close a deal because the requesters cheaping out 100fg.
I understand art is subjective and the requester has the right to not pay for what they like, but as designers here know, if you care about your work, you probably put a decent amount of effort into it. What I’m suggesting is:
- A mandatory deadline for the request
- At least a minimum budget set for the request
- A penalty (doesn’t have to be much) for each artists attempt
Judging by my short experience here. I wouldn’t be surprised if any artists have to think twice before making any attempts, if any at all.
Thoughts?
