i actually just got asked about a job where the customer has 3 robots on a line but wants a new similar line no robots. i asked what the robots did, and it was all big time robot tasks. i was then told i need to do all the same tasks but purely through mechanical means, using only limited air drops for pneumatics. i said fuck that, and then they sold the job anyways lol.

In America the factory workers that operate machinery are retarded, and they gut all the capacity for production with safety features.
Which drastically lowers production capability, you don't see this in Asia, and they make up for it by offering garbage wages.

Im not a salesman of "robots", im an engineer for "robots". when they dont work i have to get on a plane after getting chewed out by our CFO and spend a few days away from my family fixing it. which is why i dont mess up much, its great motivation.

i can tell you as an engineer who does about 50-75 projects per year i have run into that issue only a handful of times. 99% of products are plenty low tolerance that just some adjustment makes for a good fix. all of the issues we've found are VERY fragile product, VERY high rate of line speed, or VERY small products. for most of what is produced its not an issue.
