It’s not, most fast foods are filthy, I was in a McDonald’s once and nobody was wearing gloves making the hamburgers and shit but I wasn’t surprised…
Subway has all there food sitting out all day in a “cooler” but bet none of that deli meat and shit isn’t taken care of properly you know there is a lot of unsafe handling shortcuts going on.
Most of the time it's worse for people to use gloves. They think "of my hands are clean" so they drop swap out gloves often enough and become dirtier than if they didn't wear gloves and washed their hands regularly. So good on them for not using gloves.
I'd just believe that everything is handled properly, especially when I see how my food is being handled. Unless I get sick, where is the issue? And I never get sick from eating fast food or from any restaurant.
In other places your food is typically cooked, fried, etc. That’s the danger of handling vegetables & cold cuts in often unsanitary conditions (temperatures out of the safe zone, switching from food prep to cashier, cross-contamination). You can take a quick look at all the Salmonella and E. Coli cases Subway has been involved in.
It's been a long time since I've been to subway but I never witnessed temperatures out of safe zones or cross-contaminations. It's bee awhile, but when I did go I went often. No issues.
