Finally made monk on my transmuter.. testing my ml gear up to 20ml now on char.. There seems to be a difference so far ..maybe just lucky few items though.. 4 in a row makes me a believer lol.. Magic luck may help when making essence if 20+ ml ... I was just getting magical or rare with level 20 mystical items.. With ML i did 3 in a row and finally making +3 essence.. <_<

Nice going. I personally don't think character class makes a difference (I could be wrong based on hidden coding for classes).

Your tests... what events are you basing them off of? ... +X% stat, +X% ML effectiveness etc.I believe since you are a MONK, this could ALSO apply to your tests... now if you were a Rogue... would you get the same results? OH... by the way... I am talking about a Rogue that has NOT even done a Master Quest, which mean... how many MQ attempts did you do to get to Monk?

There are a ton or billions of factors to take into consideration.... so this sample is like ... 000000.01%... this is just my basic opinion... Paul needs to own up the coding calculations to the game mechanics... publicly.

The class just allows me to use staff with ml on it i guess i could of just made a rogue or mage.. But was leveling to unlock classes ...

I concur, just like a Feeder Mage can use the staff (thought a Rogue could also) and 0 MQ attempts and Transmuting (skilling) ... does it all make a difference with Transmuting? Unlocked characters give a 0.001% more chance for example???

A Monk and MQ attempts may increase that chance from 0.001% to like 0.004% (successful MQs to Monk), now, it could be based on amount of MQ attempts.... for example, you failed 4 times as a Mage, so the % would be 0.004% during your 5th run as a Mage that has not passed to a Samurai.

Again... Paul needs to give some mechanics. I want to rant, but that is pointless.

grats on all you have accomplished, I hope it bears fruit.

Not sure about class or fails having anything to do with mechanics of transmuting? and yeah Rogue could use staff .. But was not muting until i already was a Pali on that char.. So I waited to test out the magic luck gear I had.. Still not sure if it event or ml or still just random luck... Prob need do a few ranks to have more of a example to compare with...rather then just a few rolls lol Probably jumping the gun here ...

I would guess you're jumping the gun but if you're willing to collect a large sample size I'll be interested in looking at it ;)

From my testing, RNG was patchier than expected by chance, but random does not mean evenly distributed, and overall essences came out equal for each rarity across hundreds of samples with no discernable effect of ML.

That doesn't mean I haven't also made 3 magicals in a row out of godly+ or a few godly+ in a row out of relics

i had always thought that ML affected the roll of a given mod, not the amount of mods or the % chance of the essence relative to the muted item. Personally, i havent seen any difference during this event when using my ML gear muting as it relates to the resulting essence tier.

mind you i am only on rank 9.5 with a paladin so i may not have enough volume to come to any sort of conclusion.

Edit: im at 19ML btw

Agree with this, I've done many ranks of focusing only myst+ items and my stacks always end up roughly evenly distributed for mag-myst. Everyone loves to act like ohh they always go Magical, but if you actually do 1000x only mystical items you will quickly see.
