I figured out what everyone means by a trade link, I'm hoping to buy some currency and I'm willing to overpay.

in general you need premium stash tab to list your item and afterwards find it on official trade website and send a search for counterpart.
btw most ppl sends just copied whisper even if you ask for trade link...

2. Most ppl dont care with who they trade, if they are doing trades with rmt whales, you will be fine

You didn't have to do anything but play the game if you wanted currency.
