as far as predatory tactics in video games go GGG is one of the best companies out there assuming you are talking about microtransactions and free/paid game

- abusing the freemium business model (also used basic rewording for this to "free to play") to prey on peoples sunken cost and create zombies that will fight to the death for them, so their brains can justify the money spent (i proved this on jsp by making a poll with 2 yes/no answers and running a chi square test)
- absolute petty behaviors like hiding posts of people who dont say "hype" on the first few pages
- playing the friendly neighbor while doing all of this (i prefer companies that dont even try to hide they are in it for the money)

i probably missed a lot of things, i just wrote the basic ones
i mean im not looking for an argument here, but why do people think ggg is NOT predatory :unsure: ? i actually cant see the reasoning. there was nothing in their actions ever that wasnt motivated by either getting good image or money :mellow:

1) it only costs 30$ (which is also way below the normal AAA price) for the EA and is free when going full release, ppl can also simply wait for release and play a AAA for free if the 30$ would put them in danger of going into bankrupcy.
2) you can trade, it's just a lot more hassle than trading with a premium tab available. A lot of ppl even prefer playing SSF. Got no personal experience with mtx but is anybody forcing anyone to buy mtx in the first place? I'll never understand the ppls need for angel wings etc (just takes away from the games look anyway) but anyway..if a wrong purchase was made I'm sure there's customer support.

The hacking issue was solved and even openly communicated by them? They said it was an old and inactive dev steam acc somewhere that was hijacked. What do you think how many studios would have openly admitted that and not just said "the hacking thing is fixed, case closed"?

Dont have time to look up for proof/sources that this is true so cant comment on this. If did in fact get banned by CS then this is a valid point ofc.

And the difference btw "alpha", "beta" and "early access" is what in terms of expectation? At the end of the day it's and early state of the final product that ppl get access to try out. I dont get where they are "tricking" anyone into whatever here? And why shoulnt we get trailers?

1) So far I have seen a lot of transparency and a lot of work on fixing and adding new stuff from them. And they are known and regarded as one of the "pro-community" game studios - where does that rep come from if they are so evil? Now, if they keep on being the good guys after being taken over by Tencent remains to be seen.
2) If GGG is that big bad money driven greedy studio then why is poe (release game) free? Why are the new leagues free and not baked into battle passes? Why are the QoL things (nice to have but not strictly needed to play and enjoy the game) like stash tabs so cheap?
