Just functionally speaking ISIS has posed literally zero threat to Israel. They've only fought the proposed enemies of Israel. It cannot be sheer coincidence. Occam's razor.
They are suni muslims and they fought shia it makes perfectly sense.
And why would they mess with tougher opponents when they barely survived hezbollah which Israel obliterated in 2 weeks
Edit:
ISIS did not focus its attacks on Israel for several reasons:
1. Geopolitical Strategy: ISIS primarily concentrated its efforts on establishing a caliphate in Iraq and Syria, rather than engaging in conflicts with established states like Israel. Their primary objective was to seize and control territory in the Middle East, and they viewed Israel as a secondary concern compared to other regional priorities.
2. Lack of Resources and Capability: While ISIS was a significant militant group, it lacked the military capability to take on Israel, a country with a well-established and advanced defense system (e.g., the Iron Dome, advanced air force, etc.).
3. ISIS’s Ideological Focus: ISIS’s ideology revolved around the establishment of a caliphate and its internal war against what it considered apostate regimes in the Muslim world, such as the governments of Iraq and Syria, rather than engaging in a direct war with Israel.
4. Regional Dynamics: Many Sunni militant groups, including ISIS, were focused on their struggle with Shia-dominated regimes like Iran and the Iraqi government. ISIS also tended to avoid direct confrontation with Israel due to the complex nature of the regional dynamics, which included the influence of other actors like Iran, Hezbollah, and even some Arab states that have taken a more pragmatic stance toward Israel.
5. Occasional Rhetoric: While ISIS did occasionally express hostility toward Israel in rhetoric, they were more focused on fighting what they perceived as local enemies, such as the Syrian government, Kurdish forces, and Iraqi forces, rather than engaging in a full-scale war with Israel.
