Not everyones nails are the same. It's uncomfortable for me to try and use clippers for my hand nails plus with the way they are, I can't get them short enough to with clipping so I bite. What's wrong with that? Assuming people don't wash their hands first? I've never gotten sick from biting my nails and I doubt anyone has.

What do you do when you have an itch and want to scratch it?

Even when my nails are as short as they can be, they can still be used for scratching. Especially my pointer fingers. The shortest they can possibly get without injury is only a couple days away from needing to be cut again. Super annoying.

Also why do men need to have pretty hands? They don't necessarily. I bite them to the shortness I desire then use a file to smooth them out a little. That's plenty.
