Again: unless the US navy is actively assisting the Russians with the logistics, the Russians can't pull it off, not even if they have completely free passage to the Canadian shores. It's not like Canada is some tiny banana republic without any kind of defense or national security structures. You can't just land with 2000 soldiers on Vancouver Island or Newfoundland and take over the country.

The true security threat to Canada isn't an invasion, it's slowly getting taken over from within by foreign influence.

They will. Have you not been watching what’s going on? Trump has turned on Canada and the EU as well as Ukraine while consistently letting Russia go unchecked. Alliances are changing.

Surely the US could be doing more..Millions of proxy war chest funds and endless layers of sanctions are not enough!

People are misreading US leveraging their REAL sovereignty and power for the benefit of their own population (for once recently) as an alliance with Russia. Perhaps we would not be in the situation if EU nations had military to check Russia and also a US, instead they got peanuts.

Terms of the alliances are changing. Canada can always go BRICS I suppose.

Canada won’t go BRICS. Russia won’t allow it simply because Putin and Xi value even a 10% chance of bringing the US into the fold over a 100% chance of bringing Canada (a country with almost no military value and products that most of the world gets elsewhere cheaper) into the fold.
