In your Star settings you should be able to preview locked Stars.

Currently in Orbs you are able to preview locked, aka unbought Orbs. Being able to preview locked Stars would make these two more user flair sections more consistent.
This preview may also incentivize users to push for specific Stars if they can know what it'll look like equipped once they reach that threshold. I personally have had this struggle of truly seeing what a locked star would look like.

Not 100% sure on the UI change but I think that makes the most sense. You can preview a locked star but obviously would not be able to "Save Star Settings" with something you don't have unlocked.

I really don't see the point. I can imagine colored stars next to a colored name well enough.

Plus than anyone could take screen shots of themselves with the highest star value and do things with it, which might not really matter but it could in some cases.

Also stars are more prestigious. Should have to earn them to "use" them.

You're saying someone couldn't right now take a screenshot with a star and do something with it?

You wouldn't be using them, just previewing.

I'm aware someone can just edit a screen shot already and basically do the same thing, but this would take out the editing part and make it easier.

That’s a valid point. If it helps the site I’m for it. Not sure how much of a headache this could be for staff to implement. I should’ve taken computer classes in college.

If you want the shiny star, you pay for the shiny star. So you basically want to window shop 😆

Orb just costs forum gold and is non-refundable.
Stars cost money and can’t really be customized. They are exactly what is depicted on the page that shows the entirety of stars to you.
